Phase 1: Discovery & Design
We started by identifying key gaps in the original site, mainly the need to better showcase services (Housing, Support, Enrichment) and highlight stories through photos and videos.
Key updates included:
New Sitemap: Restructured the navigation, merging related pages to reduce clutter.
Modern Visual Identity: Introduced gold as a warm accent to modernize the brand look.
Minimal Layouts: Clean, spacious designs to boost readability and focus on key content.
Wireframes & Mockups: Each team member designed low-fi and high-fi frames for the homepage and 4 pages.
Phase 2: DEVELOPMENT
Using Webflow, we translated our mockups into a fully functional website with: 15+ Developed Pages: Each page follows the new structure and visual design.
CMS Integration: Easy updates for events and career page.
Accessibility Features: Ensured all designs met accessibility standards, including keyboard navigation, responsive layout, alt text, colour contrast, and clear content hierarchy.
Client Training: A walkthrough video to guide staff on site updates.
Outcome: The result is a simplified, accessible, and inviting digital platform that reflects the Excel Society’s dedication to support and community.
